Tree House, Better Than New.

We were fortunate enough to find Jacob Byler and his Amish crew of four men to take on the job of shoring up the Tree House. Two of the men were from a local community by Newcastle, Wyoming and the other two were visiting on vacation from New York state.

The building’s support beam system had become somewhat challenged over the years and we wanted to fully guarantee its absolute stability.
The project took them three full days from start to finish. No heavy equipment was used, only chain saws and a skill saw. No drawings or plans were needed. Each man knew exactly what to do, spoke very little and worked relentlessly in 90+ temperatures. .
They first constructed a temporary support system under the old building, raising the four corners. They then removed the old logs, and replaced the supports and cross members before lowering the entire building. No winches or cranes were used, just old school Amish hand labor, engineering and technique. They even added a third cross member for additional stability.
The work was completed timely and they left the site completely cleaned up. The old logs were deteriorated and they cut and stacked them for firewood as a courtesy.
We love the quality of their work and much appreciate these fine craftsman for a job well done.
